For those of you who’ve never had a chance to attend the Digital Signage Expo, or perhaps just missed out on it this year, allow me to give you a run down of this year’s innovative and visually-engaging DSE show. We recently did a blog post of the Five Things To Know About Digital Signage, and this expo was a chance to roll up our sleeves and further experience all of the new products we’ve been discussing throughout the digital signage industry.
Exhibitors arrived early in the week for booth set-up and pre-show interviews, as you can get a taste of here with our co-CEO, Rich Pierro’s interview that he did with rAVe Publications. Our tradeshow team finished setting up late in the day on Tuesday, ready for the floodgates to open at 10am on Wednesday. The early morning was bustling with exhibitors from around the world, finishing up the final touches on their booths and buzzing with excitement to share all of our new products with the rest of the digital signage industry. Exhibit hall doors opened and thus proceeded one of the busiest days the Sands Expo Center has seen!
I can’t speak for any of the other booths (partially because our booth traffic blocked my view), but the crowd flow was impressive. There are days when your schedule is sparse and those days drag on forever, and there are days that fly by because you’re so busy. Wednesday and Thursday were five-minute-long days. We spent the day talking to fellow digital signage pioneers about the things we were excited about in the industry, and how we could collaborate with one another to create amazing digital display configurations.
We proudly showcased several new products, including our LMVS Extending Ultra Slim-Line Flat Panel mount, Outdoor Solutions product line, and our industry-first Video Wall Solutions Training Center (VWSC). The VWSC towered in the center of the booth, standing 9 feet high and 17 feet long. Show attendees were awed with the concept for the training center, which enables hands-on training for a variety of video wall installation configurations, including wall mounted, floor mounted, floor to ceiling mounted, ceiling suspended and curved video walls. The LMVS extending Ultra Slim-Line Flat Panel mount offers ADA-regulation distance from the wall, which we showcased in an ultra-slim display configuration mounted in a stunning wood framing solution. Our Outdoor Solutions line was a big hit for customers seeking to environment-proof their digital signage within a stylish yet sturdy mounting solution.
People from across the exhibit hall were drawn to our booth by our hanging ECM-4000 quadruple ceiling mount, and both our freestanding custom Wayfinder and Kiosk mounts drew attention to passersby. Our executive team was kept busy with back-to-back customer appointments, and we had to convince our sales team to step away from customer walk-throughs of our VWSC and finally take their lunch breaks!
Day Two opened again at 10am, with crowds filtering in from those who sought to enjoy Vegas on their way in. It picked up quickly and once again our team found themselves busy with customer appointments and booth walk-throughs throughout the day. I managed to step away long enough to see some of the awesome booths from Sharp electronics, LG, Philips, Panasonic, Planar, Christie Digital, Stampede and a few others before I was able to get back to the crowd at our own booth. It was great to get some faces and names together for some people I’ve been working on exciting new projects with, and to see many of the new displays and software being used in the digital signage industry. As the party died down and the expo center cleared out, it was a bittersweet announcement at 5pm when they announced that the show had concluded; while it meant the event wrapped- it also meant I’d be able to sit down for a while! Word to the wise: gel shoe inserts are a very good idea for Tradeshows and Expos.
It was an incredible opportunity to work with our Premier Mounts team for this year’s Digital Signage Expo, and one I wont soon forget. The organization and teamwork throughout the experience, from planning and setup to saying goodbye to the Las Vegas Strip, it was amazing. I look forward to working with some of the great contacts I made at the show, and seeing all of the exciting new prospective digital signage solutions that our team will collaborate on in the near future.
