Recently, Samuel Merritt University looked to update its classrooms in Northern California to allow for user-friendly HD VTC (Video Tele Conference) capabilities, as well as further involvement with their IT department to monitor and control the systems remotely when needed.
In surveying the layout design of their San Mateo classroom, CompView Audio Visual discovered that two 70″ monitors would have to be placed against a giant window wall. Shading out the glare from the sun could be resolved with screens, but mounting the displays was a concern. CompView was able to work with @PremierMounts Sales Representative, Robert Guzman, to find the perfect solution in their ECM-3763S ceiling mount which secured the displays in the framework above the ceiling. It was through readily-available stock products and timely delivery that the San Mateo campus was able to open classroom doors for their January 2013 opening without a hitch.
Premier Mounts: What was it like to work with Premier Mounts on this project?
Alan Bender: We like Premier Mounts because they provide good mounts that we can depend on.
Marcus Walton: The faculty and staff love the new rooms and their AV systems. We currently have a waiting list to use them.
PM: Considering time constraints and punctual delivery, how well did Premier Mounts help to meet the deadline of the project?
AB: Premier Mounts makes reliable mounts that get delivered right on time. It’s great to work with them.
PM: What was the biggest challenge, and how did Premier Mounts help with the success?
AB: Because of the way the room is configured, we had to mount displays on a window wall. Premier Mounts has a lot of flexibility in their product line when we run into an unusual situation.
