Is there a mount any closer to the wall than this one?
There is no similar mount that is closer to the wall. Panasonic® specifies that their 103"-diagonal flat-panel requires a minimum of 8" for ventilation.
Why does this tilt from the bottom?
Given the excessive weight of the 103" flat-panel, controlling the tilt from the lower pivot point offers more stability and greater control.
Will this fit other large displays?
This model is only designed to fit the 103" Panasonic® and Runco chassis. The mounting points are not universal and the hardware pack is very specific.
