"BIM (building information modeling) is a 3D architectural design standard for generating and managing building data. Architects, consultants and integrators can use BIM objects to design, test and simulate buildings and their components. The ARCAT® library provides DFX, DWG, PDF and three dimensional Revit® RFA files for download. These can be used in AutoDesk® Revit® software to compile information for planning projects from conception to final construction. In addition to digital technical drawings and data files, BIM also includes pre-written bid specs. Conultants, estimators or specifiers can add this information directly into their MasterFormat document. www.masterformat.com"
A type of clamp device typically used to hold a wood or metal workpiece. Typically used in rental & staging and TV and film production. These clamps are called “C” clamps because of their C-shaped frame, but are otherwise often called G-clamps because, including the screw part, they are shaped like an uppercase letter G.

Dimensional weight is the space (volume) that a package or freight occupies. While most items’ actual weight is higher than the dimensional weight, there are some voluminous items with higher dimensional weight. Dimensional weight generally applies to bulky, lightweight or exceptionally long packages. The dimensional weight in pounds per package is calculated by multiplying length by breadth by height in inches and dividing by 166. (From http://www.paazi.com/actual-vs-dimensional-weight-for-international-air-shipping/)
The DSA’s primary role is to ensure that California’s K-12 schools and community colleges are seismically safe and accessible to all. It fulfills this role by reviewing construction project plans for structural, fire and life safety. The DSA also reviews construction plans to make sure structures include accessibility for disabled persons. Products that are OSHPD approved also comply to DSA requirements for seismic safety.

Line level refers to the standard signal strength used by audio processing equipment and common domestic equipment such as DVD players or mp3 players. Before any electrical current (or signal) can be used to accomplish proper sound through speakers, the signal needs to be amplified, usually to line level (typically 0.5 -2V).
A standardized bid-spec format for the construction industry. A/V equipment, mounts for video dsiplays and projectors are typically spec'ed in Division 11 Section Division 130 Audio Visual Equipment (11.130) and Section 131 Mounts for Audio-Visual Equipment (11.131). BIM objects of Premier mounts are classified in both sections and are available for download on our web site and from arcat.com.
Dedicated model or projector specific mounts use model specific mounting plates that are designed precisely for one, or more projector models. The mounting plates attach to the bases of our standard projector mounts. The majority of projectors fit at least one universal projector mount made by Premier Mounts. Model specific mounts will reduce the installation time for a projector. Installers with large projector installations or installers who install the same projcetor all the time will benefit from the time savings. If a projector will not work with any of Premier Mounts universal projector mounts, a dedicated mount can be created. Call customer service or use the web based mount finder to see if a specific projector needs a dedicated or model specific mount.
The online tool created by Premier Mounts to find the right mount for a projector or flat-panel display. California State Department that assures the safety of buildings used in providing health care. OSHPD certification is also known as seismic or earthquake safe up to an earthquake of magnitude greater than or equal to 6.5. This includes establishing building standards that govern construction of, or changes to, these types of facilities. OSHPD also observes construction in progress to ensure compliance with the approved plans and specifications. Products that are OSHPD approved also comply with DSA requirements for seismic safety.
A type of projector which produces an image on screen by transmitting light through a transparent piece of clear plastic or acetate cell. The transparent sheet with a graph or photo is placed on large lense with a light source underneath. This focuses the image into a lense which projects the image onto a screen. These projectors have been replaced by document cameras.

The PaneLock™ Security System works with our CTM and PCM Series Mounts. This patent-pending device prevents the removal of a flat-panel display from the mounting plate. The integrated theft-resistant clips latch the mounting bracket arms to the rods on the wall plate. A security screw then locks the pieces in place.
The rotational axis of a projector mount. Taken from the aviation industry\, pitch on a projector refers to the axis of rotation that would move the image of a projector up and down on a screen. Roll refers to the rotation around the axis that will rotate the image on a screen. Yaw refers to the rotation around the axis that will move the image on a screen left or right.
A direct view display made up of an array of cells\, known as pixels\, which are composed of three subpixels\, corresponding to the colors red, green and blue. Gas in the plasma state is used to react with phosphors in each subpixel to produce colored light (red, green or blue) from a phosphor in each subpixel. Most of these heavy and expensive displays have been replaced by less expensive and much lighter LCD displays.
It’s a compartment of space such as a duct or “other “environmental space that is a handling environment for air distribution. A/V equipment may only be located within these open air spaces,IF PROPERLY RATED. Not all safety label markings on products automatically represent PLENUM-APPROVAL. Currently UL or ETL indicates that products meet safety standards, specifically UL 2043 standards. Verifying the products applicability to air handling spaces requires that a system designer complete additional research due to construction liability issues. Why you may ask? Experience gained from examining building fires lead to quality standards for products that reside within air-handling spaces. Targeted Low Voltage Audiovisual codes Only products specifically tested for compliance with NFPA 262 (formerly UL910 and UL 2043 are legal for installation within air handling spaces while requiring little or no additional fire barrier. An enclosed space inside a building or other structure, used for airflow. Often refers to the space between a dropped ceiling and the structural ceiling, or a raised floor and the hard floor. Distinct from ductwork as a plenum is part of the structure itself. Cable and piping within a plenum must be properly rated for its fire and smoke indices.(Courtesy of Wikipedia)
A coating that is applied to metal products as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a “skin”.
Project registration refers to the process of submitting a bid for a given project. Dealers benefit from partnering with the manufacturer through special pricing, discounts, and technical support. This allows the dealer to provide more opportunities, build product expertise and grow profitably. Project registration provides a competitive advantage and can help increase sales and improve margin opportunities.
The rotational axis of a projector mount. Taken from the aviation industry, pitch on a projector refers to the axis of rotation that would move the image of a projector up and down on a screen. Roll refers to the rotation around the axis that will rotate the image on a screen. Yaw refers to the rotation around the axis that will move the image on a screen left or right.

The QLCS was made for heavy flat-panels or projector installations and includes four 25 ft. braided cables with looped ends and four quick locks for speedy installation. Each braided cable has a 75 lb. weight capacity rating. The QLCS is included in several of Premier Mounts products, e.g. GB-AVSTOR3, 4, 5, PP-FCMA-QL and PP-FCTA-QL.
RMS (Root Mean Square) is a mathematical way of obtaining a useful average when discussing power capabilities. The higher the RMS figure, the louder and cleaner the music sounds. The amount of continuous power, measured in watts, that an amplifier produces is called RMS power. When choosing an amplifier, the RMS rating is the most important power rating to consider.
Taken from the aviation industry, the roll on a projector refers to the axis of rotation that would rotate the image of a projector on a screen. Yaw refers to the rotation around the axis that will move the image on a screen left or right, while pitch refers to the axis of rotation that would move the image of a projector up and down on a screen.
The length of the projection beam necessary for a particular projector to produce an image of a specified size. This display size is typically specified by the end user and the purpose of the display. Based on the display size the system designer will specify the projector that should be used for this purpose based on screen aspect ratio, image brightness and contrast, and any other special projector features or cost evaluation criteria. Once the project projector has been selected, the designer can determine the distance of the projector to the display surface, which in turn will dictate the type of wall mount to select. Premier Mounts offers the UNI line of short-throw projector wall mounts available in three lengths. Each model is adjustable within its own range to enable various screen sizes and fine-tuning.
A toggle bolt is a fastener for hanging objects on hollow walls such as drywall. Toggle bolts have wings that open inside a hollow wall, bracing against it to hold the fastener securely. The wings are much larger than the bolt they are attached to. This spreads the weight of the secured item over a larger area, increasing the weight that can be secured compared to a regular bolt.
Also known as a stretching screw or bottle screw, a turnbuckle is a device for adjusting the tension or length of ropes, cables, tie rods and other tensioning systems. It normally consists of two threaded eyelets, one screwed into each end of a small metal loop, one with a left-hand thread and the other with a right-hand thread. The tension can be adjusted by rotating the loop, which causes both eyelets to be screwed in or out simultaneously, without twisting the eyelets or attached cables.
A tweeter is a loudspeaker designed to produce high audio frequencies, typically from around 2,000 Hz to 20,000 Hz (generally considered to be the upper limit of human hearing). Some tweeters can manage response up to 65 kHz. The name is derived from the high pitched sounds made by some birds, especially in contrast to the low woofs made by many dogs, after which low-frequency drivers are named (woofers). (Wikipeadia)

Depending on the cart or mount, hardware packs may also include other essential tools such as special mounting screws for wood, steel and concrete installations; regular and security M2 to M8 screws of various lengths; security Allen wrenches; wall plugs; universal washers; a level; zip ties; a Lock-It™ security barrel and much more.
Universal projector mounts are incredibly versatile and cover a wide range of projector types and sizes. These mounts ensure the job will get done and are a great choice to reduce inventory by stocking a single mount type to work with a number of projectors. All modern projector mounts use a two-piece design that allows one piece to be attached to the ceiling and the other to the projector. The way the two pieces come together is where the mount designs differ greatly. Selecting a universal projector mount should start with comparing the various connection methods each offers and selecting the version that best suits your application and preferences. Each style of mount is available in several versions that enable close ceiling attachment, variable length suspension below the ceiling, or use common 1.5 in. NPT pipe to mount to the ceiling structure. All Premier Mounts universal projector mounts include our patent-pending adjustable foot design. This provides the ability to very quickly adapt to projector mounting holes on different levels as well as provide for positive security with the innovative Lock-it™ leveling barrels.
Vertical rotational motion for articulating or swingout mounts is also know as swivel and pitch. While the swivel vertical motion refers to the joint of the swingout arm that is attached to the mount base (usually wall mounted), the pitch ocurs at the far end of the articulating arm where the mounting head is attached.
The Video Electronics Video Association (VESA) is an international non-profit corporation led by a board of directors, which represents a voting membership of more than 165 corporate members worldwide. VESA supports and sets industry-wide interface standards for the PC, workstation and consumer electronics industries. The VESA mounting interface standard includes a pattern of mounting holes on the back of a flat-panel display which match up with patterns found on many flat-panel mounts. Mounting patterns are measured in millimeters and most common patterns are 75 x 75mm, 100 x 100mm, 200 x 100mm and 200 x 200mm. Mounting patterns beyond those listed have varied sizes and are spaced in 200mm increments.
Wedge anchors, also known as expansion bolts and expansion anchors, secure themselves using a mechanical wedging effect at the end of the fastener. As shown in the figure, tightening the bolt results in a wedge being driven up against a sleeve. This jams the end of the bolt and provides the strength. Many different manufacturers provide a variation on this theme, usually depending on the condition of the concrete and the type of load.
Wire gauge is a measurement of how large a wire is, either in diameter or cross sectional area. This determines the amount of electric current a wire can safely carry, as well as its electrical resistance and weight per unit of length. Wire gauge is applicable to both electrical and non-electrical, structural wires.
